believe it or not, HYPERFIXT is not the only website you can visit on the information superhighway. your humble internet cryptid partakes in all kinds of other stuff you can look at with a computer! whether you want to curate your algorithms as tightly as mine or just want to know what kind of stuff i'm enjoying in my free time, this page will highlight all kinds of things i enjoy on the internet.

CGP GREY

i haven't delved too deep into the decade-long backlog of CGP Grey videos, but for someone like me who will listen to a good ramble about almost anything if it's presented right, this channel has a lot of interesting content. when i was putting together this list and thinking about what i wanted to highlight, this channel struck me the most with its variety - my favorite videos here range from scientific topics to explorations of the United States interstate system. there's a certain tone and rhythm to CGP Grey that some people might bounce off of, but if you're looking for a wild grabbag of smart, thoughtful, well-researched videos in surprisingly short doses, i'd recommend taking a look.

DEFUNCTLAND

i don't think it's an especially hot take amongst people in my general demographic that Defunctland is one of the most ambitious and finely-crafted channels on YouTube right now. if you are the type of person reading HYPERFIXT, you already probably know Defunctland, at least in passing. obviously, the infamous FastPass video makes for a good starting point, but Kevin Perjurer is a wildly talented documentarian who also does a ton of longer 'seasons' that condense the history of theme parks into easily traceable narratives, whether it's the rise and fall of Michael Eisner or the 19th century roots that lead all the way to modern Epcot. as a lover of weird niche artforms - and of documentaries that balance serious research with a sense of blunt, relatable humor and perspective - Defunctland is a huge inspiration to me and absolutely worth your time.

JAN MISALI

jan misali is a pretty interesting channel, and while the recurring focus on conlang content sometimes goes over my head, i also find that when their videos click with me, they click hard. shockingly few people on the internet are asking the important questions about how to categorize and catalogue the history of the most famous video game series of all time, or what the hell is going on with Caramelldansen these days.
